Ortlieb Seat-Pack (16.5 L) Review
The Seat-Pack is the bag other large seatpacks get measured against for weatherproofing. What it asks in return is money and 15 cm of seatpost.

The Amazon US listing carries a garbled title, but its 16.5 L size option, photo and description match Ortlieb's current black matt Seat-Pack (F9902). It was $199.95 on 7 October 2026, sold by OutdoorSportPro and shipped by Amazon, with two left in stock. Ortlieb gives 456 g, 64 by 30 by 22 cm, a 5 kg load limit and a volume that rolls down from 16.5 to 8 litres.
Ortlieb welds every seam rather than stitching it and rates the bag IP64, which covers dust and splashing water from any direction but not immersion. A valve purges trapped air as you roll the closure, and an inner stiffener plus wide hook-and-loop straps hold the load in a firm wedge. It fits round seatposts up to 34.9 mm, carbon included with protective film at the contact points, and retailer Rabe Bike gives 15 cm of seatpost as the space it needs.
Owner reports on this listing stood at 4.1 stars across 17 ratings in October 2026, with none below three stars. The price is the friction: Ortlieb's own German store lists the bag at €165, and the older slate listing on Amazon US was $264.45 from a seller with one rating. On a small frame or with a dropper post, measure before paying a reseller's price for a bag that may not clear.
