Restrap Saddle Bag Holster with 14L Dry Bag Review
Restrap's holster stays strapped to the bike while the dry bag comes off at camp, which is the workflow that puts it on a shortlist. On Amazon US the problem is who sells it.
The verdictA well-made holster system with the best camp workflow of its type. On Amazon US it is only sold through a weak reseller, so check the seller first.
The Amazon US listing is an imported European one with a German title, for the 14 litre holster and dry bag in black: 41 by 21 by 19 cm, 0.64 kg, 1000D Cordura, a magnetic buckle and a waterproof bag that lifts out of the holster. Restrap's own store now lists the 14 litre at 535 g in textured nylon, with a hardcase holster fastened by reflective paracord through reinforced eyelets. A reseller may ship either generation, so ask which before paying.
The holster is the reason to buy. It stays on the seatpost and saddle rails, so at camp you release one buckle and carry the dry bag into the tent rather than unstrapping the whole pack. Retailer fitting guidance for this size ranges from 15 to 20 cm between saddle and tyre, plus 10 cm of exposed seatpost, so it suits medium and larger frames better than small ones.
Owner reports stood at 4.7 stars across 56 ratings in October 2026, with owners describing dry contents in heavy rain and the removable bag as the feature they bought it for. On 7 October the only US offer was $199.00 from a third-party reseller with 40% positive feedback over the past year, not from Restrap, against $207.99 on Restrap's own US store. Check the seller and the delivery estimate before ordering.
What works
- Holster stays on, dry bag lifts out
- Magnetic buckle works with gloves on
- Handmade in Yorkshire by Restrap
What doesn't
- Needs 15 to 20 cm tyre clearance
- Only US offer is a weak reseller
- Heavier than a welded roll-top
Buy it if
Riders on medium or large frames who unpack every night and want the holster to stay on the bike
Skip it if
You ride a small frame, or want to buy from Restrap or Amazon rather than a low-rated reseller
