Rhinowalk's approach removes the cage entirely: the bag has its own mounting straps and clamps directly to the fork leg, which is both the appeal and the limitation.
The verdictThe simplest and cheapest route to fork storage. Direct mounting is less secure than a cage under load, which is the trade you are making.
Removing the cage removes cost, weight and a fitting step, and for light bulky items that is a good trade. A sleeping bag, a jacket or a tent fly in a 6 litre bag strapped to the fork leg works perfectly well, and the shoulder strap means it comes off as a piece of luggage rather than as a component.
Rhinowalk is the brand this site stocks most of, and the reason is consistency: the fabric and the coating are reliably better than the price suggests, and the mounting hardware is usually the only place they economise. That pattern holds here.
Direct strapping is the weakness. A cage constrains a load in three directions and a strap constrains it in one, so heavier contents shift and the bag rotates around the fork leg on rough surfaces. Owner reports about sagging almost always involve weight rather than a fault in the straps.
Keeping the load under about two kilos per side and re-checking the straps at the first stop is what makes this work. It is also worth positioning the bag high on the fork leg rather than low, since a bag near the axle amplifies every steering input and is the usual cause of the vagueness riders blame on the bag itself.
