Naturehike Star Trail Ultralight Tent (1P) Review
Naturehike gives the Star Trail 1P a packed weight of 0.87 kg, the lightest of its solo tents, and on a bike that is the difference between a full bag and a comfortable one.
The verdictThe weight is real and so is the price. Worth it if your seatpack is already full, hard to justify if it is not.
Weight matters less on a bike than on your back, but volume matters more, and an ultralight tent wins on both because the same fabric reduction that saves the grams also shrinks the packed roll. The Star Trail packs to 13 x 45 cm, which fits a seatpack or a bar roll on a flat-bar bike, though 45 cm is long for the gap between drop-bar levers.
It is semi-freestanding rather than a trekking-pole tent. Two short aluminium poles form the structure and the corners need staking, so it pitches on soft ground but not on rock or a wooden platform without improvising. The fly is 10D nylon rated PU1500+, light and also the thinnest fabric of the Naturehike solo range.
The compromise with any true one-person ultralight tent is that it is genuinely one person. There is no room for bags inside, which on a wet night means kit stays out under the vestibule or comes into the sleeping space with you, and neither is comfortable.
Eighty owner ratings on Amazon US, shared with the 2P version, is a modest evidence base for a tent, and the failures that matter appear in the second season through zip wear and floor abrasion. Low-star reports include a fly torn at the zip and stakes that arrived missing, so treat durability as unsettled rather than proven.
