Naturehike Mongar 2 Person Tent Review

The Mongar is the two-person tent most bikepackers should look at first, because two doors solves the problem that makes shared tents unpleasant.

Naturehike Mongar 2 Person Tent — Two Person
The verdict

The sensible two-person choice at this price. Double wall handles condensation and the second door is worth more than the spec sheet suggests.

Two doors is the specification that decides whether two people can share a tent without resenting it. With one door, whoever sleeps inside has to climb over the other to get out at three in the morning, and two vestibules means two sets of bags stay separate and reachable rather than piled at one end.

A double wall handles condensation far better than a single-wall shelter, which is the most common complaint about budget tents on humid nights. The inner stays dry against the fly and your quilt does not touch anything wet, which is the practical difference between a good and a bad night.

A thousand owner reports is a solid evidence base by the standards of this category, and the pattern is consistent about what the tent does well and where it sits: reliable, not the lightest, and priced considerably below the branded equivalents.

For a solo rider it also works as a spacious one-person tent with room to bring bags inside out of the weather, at a weight penalty of only a few hundred grams over a dedicated solo shelter. A great many bikepackers make exactly that trade on purpose and do not regret it.

What works

  • Two doors and two vestibules
  • Double wall handles condensation properly
  • Over a thousand owner reports

What doesn't

  • Heavier than a dedicated solo tent
  • Packed size is larger than an ultralight
  • Poles are standard length, not bike-specific
