Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HV (no gauge) Review
The Micro Floor Drive borrows a floor pump's layout, with a foot peg and a hose, in a frame-mounted mini pump. The HV version moves volume for gravel tyres rather than pressure.
The verdictA dependable hand pump for gravel volume, with a hose that spares the valve. Buy the gauge version if pressure matters to you.
Lezyne gives the HV version a 90 psi maximum, a weight of 210 g and a length of 310 mm, and the Amazon listing gives 200.7 g. It has a fold-out foot peg and a hose with Lezyne's ABS Flip Chuck for Presta and Schrader, so the pump pushes against the ground rather than the valve. The version this link sells has no gauge, and Lezyne sells gauge versions separately.
The hose is the useful part on a gravel bike. Pumping through a hose keeps force off the valve stem, which is where direct-connect mini pumps tend to snap valves. road.cc's 2015 review of the gauge version took a 700 x 35 tyre to 85 psi in 163 strokes and about three minutes.
The trade is weight against an electric pump or CO2, and a few rough edges reviewers found. road.cc found the bracket let the pump tap against the frame, and ENDURO's 2014 review found unscrewing the head could pull the valve core out with it. Tighten valve cores before a trip and unscrew the chuck slowly.
Owners on Amazon US gave it 4.6 stars from 406 ratings in October, with about 4 percent at one or two stars. It needs no battery, which matters on a long trip and on a cold morning. A gauge version is worth the extra if you run tubeless at low pressures.
