iGPSPORT BSC300T GPS Computer Review
The BSC300T puts a map on a small, light iGPSPORT body and keeps the six buttons of the cheaper BSC200S. What it does not do is find a way back for you.
The verdictA map with buttons in 67 g. The missing rerouting and a list price close to the BSC500's make it a narrow buy.
iGPSPORT's spec table gives the BSC300T a 2.4 inch, 240 x 320 colour transflective touchscreen, six physical buttons, a 600 mAh battery and a claimed 20 hours, in a 67 g body. It shows a built-in map and warns you when you leave the route, but the same table marks offline back-on-track as unsupported. So it shows you the side roads when a track is closed and leaves you to choose one.
The touchscreen and the buttons together are its real advantage. You can pan the map by touch in the dry and drive everything from the buttons with wet gloves, which neither the button-only BSC200S nor the three-button BSC500 offers. A hands-on review in Bicycling Australia credits those buttons with keeping it usable in poor conditions.
The cost of the map is battery and money. It shares the BSC200S's shell and cell and claims five hours less, and its $109.90 list price sits close enough to the BSC500's $149.90 that rerouting and a bigger screen are a small step up. Buy the bare unit, because the sensor bundle on Amazon has cost more than a BSC500.
