The verdictA sensible beam pattern at a low price. Treat the 1200 lumen figure as marketing and judge it on the shape of the light.
A narrow high-output beam is designed for road, where the hazard is far ahead and the surface is predictable. On gravel the hazards are close, off to the side, and constantly changing, so a wide beam that lights the edges of the track is more useful than a bright spot fifty metres up the road.
Lumen figures at this price are self-reported and effectively meaningless, because there is no standard test and every seller rounds upward. What you can assess is the beam pattern from the product photography and the owner reports, and both here describe genuine spread rather than a narrow hotspot.
Runtime falls sharply at the highest setting, which is true of every light in this bracket and worth planning around. The usable configuration for a long evening is a middle mode, and the top setting is for a specific descent rather than continuous use.
Two hundred and sixty-nine reports is a reasonable base for a newer listing but nothing like a long-run one, and bike lights characteristically fail through water ingress at the charging port after a season or two rather than through anything you would notice on arrival.
