2L Collapsible Water Bag, 28mm Sawyer-Compatible Review
A larger dirty-water reservoir changes how a Sawyer setup works at camp, because the constraint stops being the filter and starts being how often you walk to the water.
The verdictThe cheapest way to make a Sawyer setup work for a dry camp. Thin material is the trade, so treat it as a consumable and pack it carefully.
The standard Sawyer pouch holds well under a litre, which is fine for topping up on the move and poor for arriving at a dry camp needing four. A 2-litre bag on the same 28mm thread halves the number of trips to the water and lets you hang it and gravity-feed while you set up, which is the point at which filtering stops feeling like a chore.
It rolls flat and weighs almost nothing when empty, so the cost of carrying it is close to zero. Owner reports describe it working exactly as intended with the Sawyer range, and the thread compatibility means it also serves as a plain water carry for a dry camp even without the filter attached.
The material is the caveat. This is a budget bag and the reports that exist mention thin TPU and seams that need respect, so it should be packed away from tools and never crushed full. At this price it is a consumable, and carrying it alongside the original pouch rather than instead of it is the sensible approach.
Hanging it is what makes the size worth carrying. A full two-litre bag suspended from a branch or a bike gravity-feeds through the filter while you pitch a tent, which converts filtering from an active job into something that happens on its own. The handle is the part to inspect before trusting it with a full load.
