This 20L bag uses a premium 840D nylon that feels significantly tougher than the standard polyester found on budget alternatives. The double-sided TPU coating makes it a literal fortress against water. The quick-release hooks provide a secure, rattle-free connection that is easy to operate one-handed when arriving at work.
The included shoulder strap is more than an afterthought. It is wide and comfortable enough for a walk from the bike rack to the office. Internally, there is a simple pocket for a tablet or thin laptop. It strikes a great balance between a rugged touring bag and a clean commuter pack, making it a very versatile addition to any gravel bike.
Placed against its siblings, the distinction is the closure rather than the fabric. This is the 840D nylon bag with quick-release hooks and a zip-and-flap top; the Rhinowalk 20L Waterproof on the same page is PVC tarpaulin with a roll-top. Same brand, same 20L, $13 apart — and the roll-top is the more waterproof of the two, while this one is faster to get in and out of at a bike rack.
At 950g it is also the lightest single 20L here. The trade is that a coated-and-flapped closure is a water-resistant design in a way a rolled dry bag is not: fine for a commute in rain, worth a liner for a multi-day tour where the contents have to stay dry for days rather than hours.
