This is one of the few genuinely full-frame bags available at a sane price, and the road and gravel cut matters because a full-frame bag only works if it matches the triangle.
The verdictThe right answer if you are willing to give up the bottle cages. Nowhere else on a bike carries weight this well, and the sizing is what makes it fit.
A full-frame bag puts weight low and central, between the wheels and near the bottom bracket, which is the best place on a bicycle to carry anything heavy. Handling changes far less with four kilos in the frame than with two on the bars. Riders who move to a full-frame setup rarely go back.
The three sizes are the reason this one works. A full-frame bag that does not match the triangle either leaves dead space or fouls the seat tube bottle boss, and offering small, medium and large for road geometry solves the problem that generic bags create. Measuring the triangle before ordering is essential rather than advisable.
The trade is absolute: you lose the bottle cages inside the frame. That pushes water onto the fork, the bars or a top tube bag, and it is the single reason most riders choose a half-frame bag instead. Owner reports also note the full-length zip as the point that needs care, since a full-frame bag is stuffed harder than a half.
Sizing is worth spelling out, because it is where the purchase goes wrong. Measure the inside of the triangle at its longest horizontal run and its tallest vertical, then compare against the published figures for each size rather than assuming your frame size maps to the bag size. A medium frame does not reliably want a medium bag.
