Anker Nano Power Bank (5,000mAh, Built-In USB-C) Review
The Nano plugs straight into a USB-C phone or head unit on a fold-out connector. It is the smallest way to carry a top-up, and it holds less than riders expect.
The verdictThe lightest, tidiest way to carry one top-up. At about 0.8 of a phone charge it is an overnighter's bank.
Anker rates the Nano at 5,000 mAh on a 3.6 V cell, about 18 Wh, and gives it a weight of 100 g. A USB-C plug folds out of one end and charges a phone or head unit with no cable, and there is a USB-C port as well. It delivers up to 22.5 W from one port and 18 W in total.
By Anker's own listing formula it gives about 0.8 of a charge to an iPhone 15. Anker says to hold the phone and bank together while charging, and phone cases thicker than 4.9 mm will not let the plug seat. Refilling it takes about 2.4 hours from an 18 W charger, and Anker's page describes pass-through charging.
The owner record is mixed on capacity and durability. Owners on Amazon US gave it 4.3 stars from 16,110 ratings in October, with 11 percent at one or two stars. Amazon's review summary counts most capacity and durability mentions as negative.
It suits an overnighter or a long day, where one top-up for a phone or a bike computer is all that is needed. For a weekend, a 10,000 mAh bank holds about twice the energy for a little more than twice the weight. Anker covers it with a 24-month warranty.
